What is Encore and why should I use it?
Encore is a new way to search Alliant Library's resources. Use Encore for broad searches to see what materials the Library has on a topic. Its results make it easy to refine your search to exactly what you want.
Will Encore replace the catalog?
No. Continue to use the catalog when you want to do a non-keyword search, e.g. Author, Title, or ISBN, or if you need to apply limits to your search.
Does Encore search the same resources as the catalog?
For the time being, yes. But Encore is being developed to simultaneously search both the catalog and selected databases.
Where does Encore come from?
Encore is a product of Innovative Interfaces, an international library software vendor. We are pleased and proud to be among the first libraries world wide to make Encore available to our users. Others are preparing to follow.

- Right Results - Catalog results grouped by relevance
- Faceted Search by format, collection and more
